María Vetterlein
Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Bachelor’s degree in Film Studies and Sociology from J. W. Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main. Specialization in Gender Studies and Migration. Master’s degree in Argentine Women’s Cinema.
Studied photography with Alberto Natan, Guillermo Ueno, and Valeria Bellusci in Argentina. Studied painting with Héctor Destéfanis.
Her photographic work focuses on themes related to the transitory and ephemeral, nature, and emotions. Her current work on landscape and the passage of history explores the role of the forest in German families. Her work on love—love as a gift, as Georg Simmel would put it—encompasses different perspectives on love and loving.
Her work as a photographer was selected by curator Ataúlfo Pérez Aznar for the Fotofest Buenos Aires exhibition, the Berlin Community Gallery, and others, in various cities across Germany and Argentina.
